Do you want to know about my cancellation policy? Or perhaps you want to know a little more about my background? If so, please check out my Frequently Asked Questions below.

How many students do you teach?

Currently, I teach more than 40 students each week.

How long are the lessons?

Each lesson is 55 minutes long, with 5 minutes reserved for booking the next lesson.

How can I change a lesson?

You can change a lesson up to 48 hours before the lesson is due to start. Please send me a text message on +44 (0) 7958 662428 or a Skype message to let me know and we can reorganise the lesson.

What happens if I cancel for any reason, including illness?

If you need to cancel the lesson within 48 hours for any reason at all, including illness, the cancellation fee will be half the price of the lesson. This is because I will not have enough time to fill the slot with another student.

What happens if I forget about the lesson?

If you forget the lesson, you’ll be charged for half the price of the lesson.

What happens if I am late?

If you are late, the lesson will still need to finish on time. This is because I will have another student afterwards, so it simply won’t be possible to add on extra time at the end.

Are you ever late?

On some occasions, my lessons may overrun by five minutes or so. When this happens, I will contact to you as soon as I am able. I will also make up any lost time at the end of the lesson.

What happens if I go on holiday?

Simply let me know at least one week in advance. Don’t forget though, by using Skype, there is nothing stopping you from still having your lesson. I’ve had students do their lessons by a swimming pool!

What happens if you go on holiday?

Sometimes I need a break, and when this happens, I give you the option of a double lesson the week before or after I travel.

How can I pay?

Once you start lessons, I will provide you with my bank details. Please make all payments in advance of the lessons.

How do I stop my lessons?

Simply give me a call and tell me that would like to stop learning. I will then send you a written confirmation for your records.

Can I get a receipt?

Absolutely. Simply send me a message or ask me in a lesson.

Can you teach me how to use Skype?

Absolutely. If you have never used Skype before, I can guide you through the installation over the phone. I can then explain how it works, how to call me and how to send messages. Don’t worry, you will
be up and running in no time.

Can I do the lesson on FaceTime?

Absolutely. I actually prefer FaceTime as the connection appears to be more reliable.

Can I do the lesson on Google Hangouts?

Absolutely. This is actually a great option if you want to learn with another person in a different location to yourself.

How long will it take before I can speak French?

Well this all depends on how much French you want to speak. If you are just learning some basic phrases to get by on holiday, a series of five to ten lessons will suffice.

To have basic conversations in French, about 500 core words would be required. This represents around 80% of the words used in French conversation. This would take between 30 to 50 lessons.

To be completely fluent in French would take several years of dedicated study, as well as extra work between our lessons.

Do you teach children?

Yes, I am DBS certified, and I love to teach children. Depending on the child’s age, I may ask that an adult supervises. This is in case they have a problem with their computer.

Are you a native speaker?

Yes, I am French and my family comes from Paris. Interestingly though, I was actually born and raised in Japan to Franco-American parents, so as a result, I speak English, French and Japanese natively.

What type of French accent do you have?

I have a neutral metropolitan French accent common to Paris.

Why do you teach?

I love what I do. I love to share my passion for learning, seeing my students achieve things that they would have never imagined, and it’s always such an honour to be a part of that amazing journey. I can’t imagine doing anything else!

What is your teaching experience?

I have taught over 6,000 hours of lessons over a period of 8 years in the UK. I have also taught in France, Japan and America. I have taught all levels and all age groups in a wide range of settings including nurseries, companies, groups and of course, on Skype!
